Note: The Borders Affiliate program has ended (thank the current American economy for that one), so these links need to be updated to work right. Please be patient while I fix them (the Mathnet videos are a rare find these days though). Here you'll find not only the Mathnet and Square One videos, but also a few selections that I think you'll enjoy. Each features one (or more) of the actors who were on Mathnet at some time in the film. I have picked out ones I've either seen and liked, or ones others have seen and recommended I check into. I will add more as I find them, or at your request! Let's help each other in getting a hold of our fave actors on tape! Special Order (They will order these for you, then ship):
Description: Something strange is happening to washed-up pitcher Lefty Cobbs. Now he's hitting one handed homers, pitching faster than anyone in history, and sending crazy coded messages to his pal Babs. There's some foul play going on here, and it's up to the Mathnetters to find out why.
Description: Archie Leach is a playboy, jet-setter, and maybe a jewel thief. He's the prime suspect when the world famous Despair Diamond disappears (a second time). Has he hidden it in Monterey Bay? Something really fishy is going on, and the Mathnetters will have to go undercover (and underwater), to catch a thief. In Stock/Ships Immediately:
Description: Fun music videos from your favorite Square One music guests. Includes Weird Al Yankovic, Kid N' Play, Gregory Hines, and more. Great fun and lots of math lessons for all ages! Features 'Downtown Julie Brown' also. Description: The long-running battle between neighbors John and Max escalates when zesty widow Ariel moves into their wintery Minnesota community. While the grouchy old rivals verbally spar over the new arrival, Max's son Jacob pines for Melanie, John's daughter. The pair's pranks and insults hide a growing friendship for one another, even as Ariel teaches the quarrelling duo how to escape their snowbound existence and embrace change. Stars: Jack Lemmon, Ann-Margret, Walter Matthau, Burgess Meredith Who you'll recognize in it: Joe Howard (George!), as the pharmacist. If I say anything more about that, it'll spoil the fun! Reason(s) I liked it: It's funny, and it's just soooo, well, funny! Lemmon and Matthau are a great comic duo, as most of you probably know. This one is worthy of several viewings (at least)! Oh, did I mention it was funny, too? One subtle viewing suggestion: DO NOT SKIP THE ENDING CREDITS! Just trust me on this one!
Description: The androgynous "Pat" of "Saturday Night Live" fame makes, uh, it's big screen debut, and it's no easier to tell if Pat's a he or a she. Pat pursues Pat's goals oblivious to the confusion, embarrassment and even obsession afflicting those around the walking human paradox that is Pat. Stars: Julia Sweeney Who you'll recognize in it: Beverly Leech (Kate!), as Mrs. Riley, but apparently isn't too easily spotted. Reason(s) I liked it: I haven't seen this yet, so I'll update this once I do!
Description: A picture-perfect family, full of love and passion for life, is threatened by the wife's dependence on alcohol in this heart-wrenching drama. In the end, it may take more than they can give to overcome their shared struggles. Stars: Andy Garcia, Meg Ryan Who you'll recognize in it: Bari K. Willerford (Benny Pill) as Malcolm, a fellow recovering alcoholic who Meg Ryan's character befriends. Reason(s) I liked it: Let me just say this: if you think Steven Marcus is cute, you should see Andy Garcia; woo hoo! It's a really sweet movie beyond that, too. It even made me (the tough-to-emotionalize) cry! |
