Perhaps you've seen and recognized some of
the actors who have been in episodes of Mathnet on other shows, movies, or commercials. If
you haven't, maybe the facts below will spark your interest. If you have, great! (Also, if
you have anything to add to this list, let me know ASAP!!!)
HELPFUL NOTE: In
case you're wondering, the character names appear in parentheses; the underlined names are

DID YOU KNOW...
Joe Howard
(George Frankly) appeared in the movie 'Grumpy Old Men' as the pharmacist working
at the counter, played a court clerk in 'The Mighty Ducks', and was Lt. Minnick in a
couple of episodes of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'. Just found out he starred in a
production of 'South Pacific' about 25 years ago. He's also did commercial for Volvo (with
a tie-in to 'The Saint') recently, Henry Weinhard's Beer and Taco Bell. My secret agents
have also spotted him in past eps of 'Mork and Mindy', 'Unsolved Mysteries', and
'Frasier', among other things.
James DePaiva
(Archie Leach) plays Max Holden on the soap opera 'One Life to Live'. He is
married to an actress on the very same soap, Kassie DePaiva.
Beverly Leech
(Kate Monday) has been in episodes of 'Matlock', 'Perry Mason', 'Head of
the Class', 'Facts of Life', 'Quantum Leap', 'Rockford Files', 'Colombo', 'Northern
Exposure', 'Babylon 5', 'Alien Nation' and 'Sledgehammer', did a commercial for
'Skintimates Shave Gel', and the Sony mini disc player, appeared as Mrs. Riley in the
movie 'It's Pat!', and was featured on a very early season of 'Star Search' in the acting
(no longer on it) competition. She used to be on 'Days of Our Lives' as Bianca Torres.
Also, she has done several 'Made-For-TV' movies. My hound-dogs have spotted her in bit
roles on 'Diagnosis Murder', 'Clueless', and 'Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place' in
recent days.
Yeardley Smith
(Jane Rice-Burroughs) does the voice of Lisa on 'The Simpson's'. She also
appeared on the show 'Herman's Head'.
Betty Buckley
(Sally Storm) played Abby on 'Eight Is Enough', was in the movie 'Carrie' (and in
the stage version), won a Tony award for her role in 'Cats' and played the lead character
in 'Sunset Boulevard'. (She also has her own Web page. The link is included on my
Entertainment page.) Betty of course is a very busy Broadway Diva with her own albums out
as well!
Toni DiBuono
(Pat Tuesday) has appeared in many national T.V. commercials, including ones for
'Sports Illustrated', 'MCI', 'Honey Bunches of Oats', 'Pepperidge Farm', 'Three
Musketeers' (as a cop!), and 'Robitussin', and was in the Off-Broadway show 'Forbidden
Broadway'. She was a co-hostess on the Lifetime TV
show 'Our Home' (now Off -air). My detectives also heard her in a 'Snickers' radio
commercial last October (the one with the Munsters theme). And her hubby, Michael McGrath,
was in an ep of Mathnet as well (even before she was on the show). They have a
five-year-old daughter, Kathleen.
Emilio Del Pozo
(Captain Grecco) appeared in a national T.V. spot for 'KMart'.
James Earl
Jones (Chief Thad Green) did the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars
Trilogy (well, duh!), and has appeared in numerous award-winning performances in movies
and theatre.
Michael McGrath
(Barney Oldmeal) is Toni DiBuono's hubby, and also worked in the Off-Broadway
show 'Forbidden Broadway'. He has done tons of Cabaret (not the show, the genre), Broadway
and Off-B'way shows; most recently in the revival of 'Little Me'. He's appeared on several
cast albums also. He also co-hosted The Martin Short Show. Currently, he
is the star of the new Off-Broadway Hit Game
Show the Play.
Bari K.
Willerford (Benny Pill) appeared in the movie 'When A Man Loves A
Woman', was in recent episodes of 'Seinfeld', 'Murphy Brown' and 'Caroline in the City',
and has had small parts in many other films. Recently he was sniffed out by my crew in
ongoing Energizer commercials. He does a lot of bit roles on TV as well.
Gerry Vichi
(Wally Wallaby) is currently appearing in a commercial for 'Toys R' Us'.
He has done B'way work also, including 'How to Succeed at Business Without Really Trying'.
Weird Al
Yankovic (Murray the Mouth) has done many TV appearances and music
albums. (He too has many Web pages devoted to his work.) I am sure you've all spotted him
somewhere.
Steven Marcus
(Louie, Miles Reed) is my love, and he knows this. He has a page all to himself, and you can read
more than you ever wanted to know about him there. *SMILE*
As I find out more on these and other
actors, I will add to this page!
